A.S.S.E.T.
Accelerated Sunday School Enrichment and Training
You are about to embark on a journey that will lead toward maximizing your potential as a teacher. The A.S.S.E.T. process is designed to acquaint you with the basics which will improve your classroom, your students, and you.
three components to the A.S.S.E.T. process
-
One-day A.S.S.E.T. seminar.
At this seminar, you will be given an overview of four of the five books that are required for completion of A.S.S.E.T. You will need an A.S.S.E.T. Student Manual for each student. You will be shown how to attract and keep students by recognizing and fulfilling their basic needs. You will then explore what it takes to become a teacher who makes a difference. Next, you will discover ways to breathe life into your church through Sunday School and be encouraged to see your role in the greater church process. Finally, you will learn how to master various teaching methods. -
Completion of the study guide portion of the A.S.S.E.T. Student Manual.
You can read each book and complete the study guide alone or in a group of students. You can complete the study guides before attending an A.S.S.E.T. seminar or following one. You will note that only four of the five books required for the completion of the A.S.S.E.T. process have study guides in the Student Manual. The Focus On book should be selected to correspond to the age level you teach. If you are doing the Spanish version, please select an age level training book from your local book store and indicate on your test the name of the book after you have completed reading it. The five books required are as follows. These books can be purchased by calling 1-800-641-4310.-
Focus On age-level book that relates to your primary area of ministry (early childhood, elementary, teen, adult, administration)
-
Completion examination.
This open book exam is included at the end of the A.S.S.E.T. Student Manual. AFTER you have attended an A.S.S.E.T. seminar and read all the books and completed the four study guides in the Student Manual, complete the exam and send it to:
Once the national training office receives your completion examination, one of our staff members will grade it. Upon a score of 80% or higher, and ‘yes’ answers to questions one through five, you will be issued a certificate of completion and your name will be included in the national training database.Training Coordinator
